Extending far beyond the proscenium of a typical puppet booth, The Devil & Mister Punch is a beautiful, dark, quirky odyssey inspired by the legendary figures of Punch and Judy. It 19th century puppet shows, itinerant Medicine shows, jug band music, and the British music hall bit parts from a ‘traditional’ show extend, unfold, interweave. With crocodiles, car chases, a singing bull, and sausages it explores love, fighting, loss, and being a puppeteer – what it means to be both seen and hidden.
